Scientific dimension
We conduct scientific research on the effectiveness of taking action to protect the environment and rationally use natural resources.
We specialize in researching the natural environment and natural resources
The Warsaw Ecological Economics Centre is a research and development group with extensive experience in conducting research within international, national, and our own research projects. We specialize in research on phenomena related to the natural environment and natural resources and their impact on social well-being.
Our areas of interest include in particular:
- Pricing non-market goods and modeling consumer preferences;
- Economic instruments supporting effective environmental management;
- General equilibrium models that take into account interactions with the environment.
WOEE has participated in numerous international and national research projects in the field of environmental economics. Our research has also been commissioned by the Ministry of the Environment, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and other state administration institutions. We cooperate with many research Centres in Poland and abroad, including Harvard University, Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics , International Society for Ecological Economics and European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists . Our research has been published in top scientific journals including Environmental and Resource Economics , Ecological Economics , Energy Economics , Sustainable Development and Journal of Policy Modeling.
The extensive experience of our team gained in our own research and international cooperation in research projects ensures that our research is carried out at the highest world level, while the establishment of WOEE within the structures of the University of Warsaw ensures professional management, financial support and resources that allow for the implementation of even the most ambitious research projects.
